Mohammed

Mohammed and his wife Zara are refugees from Yemen who arrived in Norway four years ago. They have a three-year-old daughter called Hani.

Mohammed trained as a teacher in his home country and was a resource person in the local community. He now works part time in a shop. He is dealing with trauma stemming from the war in his home country.

Zara is a qualified physiotherapist. She became pregnant after they arrived in Norway, and was at home with her daughter for 2 ½ years. She has been attending Norwegian classes since Hani started nursery. For the past six months, Hani has had a full-time place at Solgløtt nursery, where she is considered a happy, thriving child.

Mohammed is currently on sick leave and his mental health is deteriorating. He is receiving follow-up for this from an interdisciplinary primary care follow-up team. Amina is part of this team and is going on a home visit to talk to Mohammed. The purpose is to assess the need for further follow-up. You are a student and will accompany Amina to the home visit as an observer.
