About the learning activities in Solstien 3

The purpose

The purpose of using a VR headset and 360-degree videos is to ensure a safe training environment for students, where they can put theoretical knowledge into practice. The 360-degree videos are to be used together with adapted learning activities in the context of health and social care education, not as stand-alone films.

We have developed suggestions for learning activities and simulations that are adapted to the four disciplines involved (nursing, occupational therapy, social education and social work). The learning activities will also be relevant for other disciplines, as well as for employees in the field.

Suggestions for learning activities/simulation can be found here.

Overarching learning outcomes for Solstien

  1. Identify, reflect on and address ethical issues that arise in the execution of the candidate’s duties.
  2. Develop relationship, communication and guidance skills that enable the candidate to understand and interact with service users, patients and their families. Furthermore, the candidate must be able to guide service users, patients and their families, as well as relevant personnel who are in processes involving learning, coping and change.
  3. Interact across disciplines, occupational categories, sectors, activities and levels, and initiate such interaction.

The learning outcomes are taken from the Regulations concerning a joint framework plan for health and social care study programmes, section 2 (Ministry of Education and Research, 2017).
